The year was 1980 and the album “Back In Black” featured a new lead singer named Brian Johnson who replaced former AC/DC singer Bonn Scott who died months earlier.

With the death of Scott, there were folks (non-believers) who that thought this was the end of the hard rocking Australian band. But we were all shocked that “Back In Black” was a HUGE success with essentially no filler tracks.

The album produced a number of hits with the title track, “Hells Bells” and “You Shook Me All Night Long”. In my opinion some of the best songs on the album were the deeper cuts such as “Shoot To Thrill”, “What Do You Do For Money Honey” and “Shake A Leg”.

With Johnson being added to the line up, the band seemed to be stronger and more powerful than ever, and Angus Young’s guitar riffs and power chords are absolutely amazing. Just listen to his lead guitar in “Shake A Leg” and I’m sure you’d agree.

I had to think really hard which album came out in 1980 that would represent a part of the soundtrack of my life. But then suddenly, it all made perfect sense.

Numerous soundtracks have included AC/DC songs from this album, from the film “Maximum Overdrive” and “Iron Man 2,” to name a few.

If you want to hear hard rock the way it was meant to be then pick this superb album up and enjoy. Welcome to the 80’s!!!
